Whether it’s advocating for sustainable development, improving city infrastructure, or tackling the complex issues of homelessness and substance use disorders, Mike has consistently demonstrated a unique ability to bridge divides and build coalitions.
Mike's passion for helping others is evident in his work in counseling and nonprofit management as well as co-founding AAAAChange LLC (4-A-Change), which provides outreach and case management for individuals experiencing homelessness. His life philosophy, rooted in stoicism, has guided him through challenges both personal and professional.
Mike’s life is a testament to the power of resilience and the belief that one person can make a difference. Whether he’s working in his garden, caring for his family, or hiking the trails he loves, Mike brings the same dedication and compassion to everything he does.
Mike is currently distilling his experience and values into his first book The Practical Guide to Building a Better World. He is the founder of the New American Community, a Political Action Committee committed to identifying, training, and supporting local activists in every county in America. Mike remains committed to the vision of building stronger, more connected communities across the country. His work with the Community reflects his belief in the importance of grassroots organizing, sustainable practices, and the relentless pursuit of a better future for all.
